Kernel Linux 4.9 : ce qui va changer pour l’Orange Pi (Allwinner H3/H2)

La première Release Candidate de la version 4.9 du noyau Linux vient d’être publiée. La date a été avancée de quelques jours pour ne pas tomber en même temps que Noël par Linus Torvalds. La version 4.9 est une grosse mise à jour qui introduit un bien meilleur support des processeurs à architecture ARM. Cette mise à jour est une bonne nouvelle pour les mini ordinateur Orange Pi dont le support de l’I2C et du GPIO est en retrait par rapport à celui du Raspberry Pi qu’il est censé concurrencer.

Meilleur support des puces ARM Allwinner

La version 4.9 va prendre beaucoup mieux en charge de nombreuses puces ARM utilisées dans la fabrication du Raspberry Pi et équivalents. Cette version s’annonce particulièrement interessante pour l’Orange Pi qui souffre encore d’une prise en charge en retrait, notamment au niveau du GPIO et de l’I2C. Ce nouveau Kernel devrait faciliter leur emploi.

      • Enable HDMI on Arndale Octa board.
